1998年、アメリカ合衆国マサチューセッツ州スプリングフィールドにて結成されたヘヴィメタルバンド。
リーダーはVocalのPhilip Labonteで、オリジナルメンバーは彼とリードギターのOli Herbertだけである。
デビュー時の音楽性はメロディック・デスメタルのスタイルだったが、全米75位を記録した3rdアルバム『The Fall of Ideals』以降はメタルコアのスタイルに変遷している。以降、ヴォーカルのクリーンパートも徐々に増える傾向にある。
世界総売り上げは100万枚以上。
